Event Description

This presentation provides information on how companies are now looking within their supply chain (i.e., directly at farmers) to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions and generate what are known as carbon insets. Companies are contracting directly with farmers to grow/raise crops/livestock under what each individual company identifies as “climate-smart”. This presentation will go over the companies currently contracting directly with farmers, what qualifies as climate-smart, how this will impact producers’ operations, management strategies to reduce production, marketing, and legal risk in a new “voluntold” carbon market.
